Recently one of my best friends moved away. We knew this day was coming and we spent the last few months of school and summer doing everything we had wanted to do together. We went to Vortex Springs, made numerous dance videos and so much more. Our friendship became more like a sisterhood because we spent so much time together. We had so many good times during this summer such as making cake balls and getting the entire kitchen as well as ourselves messy. By the time she had to move we were both incredibly sad but neither one of had made it a sappy goodbye because we knew we'd keep in touch.
This taught me that just because a friend moves away it doesn't mean the friendship has to end. Carmen now lives across the country but it hasn't affected out friendship at all. We still have periodical phone calls as well as Skype sessions. We were best friends before she moved and we will remain just as good of friends with her gone.
